Torro/Taigen kit Tiger

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Mid/late have this on the rear deck a triangular plate, another fix required.

Fixing the rear panel on the engine deck from early to a mid . Another little problem sorted out.
For a mid or late the filler cover has to go and the retaining latch moves over to the right.

DKLM used to sell the filler caps in metal and I spent far too long pin vicing out the plastic/abs blanks and tapping a thread for the replacements,
A side advantage was the opportunity by the judicious rerouting of the plumbing to use the DKLM filler caps as a means to refill the smoker without having to separate the tank body from the hull and with the battery charger socket built into the rear panel of my Tigers via the inertial starter plate I rarely have the need to open my Tigers at all.
I am really enjoying your build, I love the attention to detail

So when you first bought this tank it was an Early? I ask because I bought what they say is a mid, but it doesn't have that triangular plate. One more thing I need to fix one day? You did a great job on yours, hope you won't mind if I flagrantly copy all your hard work. Bwahahaha!

Hi Max This is the tiger kit, an early one. As for the build if you dig down in the builds everything is available . Its the ones who first decided that HL was OK but not quite right. They should take the credit :haha:

Trying to hide the rear hull joint . Another little error from HL rear plate should sit flush with rear deck, some zimmermit to hide the joint.
Looks bad when the air filters are gone

With paint it should blend in and hide the joint.

Another way to hide the rear plate join is to remove a 2mm strip along the length of the rear body and add a 2mm strip to the whole length of the top of the rear plate.
Judicious use of "Green Putty" and a little work with "Wet & Dry" will make the addition to the rear plate invisible.

Whilst I applaud the handmade tow hitch it does not look anything like the prototype,
An accurate facsimile can be purchased from http://www.rctank.de/
