Re: Early m4a1
I'm guessing you've now tried the Heng Long turret for fit? What did you think of their match?

Re: Early m4a1
Turrets at my dads at the moment having the mantlet printed. But looking at it the fit will be fine. I have tried a turret ring and that’s a good fit so should be ok and it looks like it’s a good fit for the hl hull bus as I said some modifications are required if using split transmission cover. But as they don’t come with any mud guards or anything those small mods needed will be easy to cover up with a little filler and plasticard.
Over all it’s a good fit for Heng long. I have had to cut a little off the back plate with the cast being thicker than hl uppers but other than that it’s just cosmetic mods to suit what is planned for it

This is the last update I got for the mantlet progress. There are some more alterations to be made but as you can see it’s getting there. I am told that once it’s ready and bang on my dad may print to order should anyone want one but I’m not sure on his price yet

This is a photo mainly for gunner showing the turret rings fit and the hatches but will help anyone thinking of buying this upper and a photo of it when I got it

Fantastic, thank you.
Well, my first one will be on its way after the weekend
And thank you Mr Kaczor for letting us know about this hull

Re: Early m4a1
I did have to check the back on this because it didn’t look right for an early version. It turns out it’s not the problem we have then is. Do I reshape the back to make it like what I’m used to seeing or do I cover it up by sticking a shelf to if for all the extra stuff they had in the desert. Or do I build it in when I add the skirts and mud guards. But then all of the a1 I have seen photos of all have the stamp for 1 particular factory. Yet when I scroll through endless black and white photos of a select few early a1 in the desert. I don’t see any with the stamp
So. Do I leave as it is as I cannot confirm it would not be different from another cast steel plant. After all the mato top carries the stamp but is completely wrong after that

Re: Early m4a1
Or are we all trying to build a1s using photos of surviving a1 tanks that are in fact grizzlies made to look like an a1
