JNB,
I just saw your kind and erudite reply. Here are a couple of pics of my Panther from way back when...The Neodymium or rare earth magnets are readily available in hardware stores now or online. You don't have to cut larger ones up to get the right size anymore ;o) Long story short, the magnets epoxied onto the back of the caps grab the metal screw holding sprockets and idlers in place. Some sanding of the surface of the sprocket hub is needed to remove Heng Longs modeled on detail so the replacement cap sits flush. Any questions, please grab me.
regards,
Painless
P.S. Tamiya does their own sprocket and idler covers this way on some tanks ( almost forgot )

Its been a busy day around here, I had an open casting call for crew members and I got a large variety of people stopping by!

This motley crew got the job, they even brought their girlfriend!

Over the next few days I will transform them before your eyes!

These took a lot of hours! I know this is not a figure or modeling forum so I wont post all the pictures of the process unless a board member is interested. I started with the intent of using the redskull heads and paint them but they needed hair, so I sculpted the hair on but there were alot of fitment issues and in the end I just gave up on that whole idea and used heads I have. The gas-masks are resin, the stg44 vampire kits are metal, the decals are available on eBay. I like the way they came out, They fit the theme of the 1946 end of the road fanatical resistance.

I also got a few good pictures of the tank now that I have my photo booth back up and running.

Very cool. I really like how you’ve weathered your tracks. I want mine to look like that.

Excellent work with the figures. I'm a bit partial to some Red Skull.

Love the resin gas masks, where did you get them please, they’re a lifesaver when you’re as bad at painting faces as I am....

When I was working on the Red Skull head sculpt and one point he looked like the German on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade when he chose the wrong cup!Estnische wrote:Excellent work with the figures. I'm a bit partial to some Red Skull.
