Strange looking tank/tracked vehicle.

Hi all.
A friend of mine found this picture and was interested to see if anyone here could shed some light on it, ie-origins and purpose.
We know nothing on this tank.

To my untrained eyes my opinion is it looks Russian in origin and maybe fully submersible,for crossing river beds etc.

looks like a training tank to me similar to the one they have of a centurion/chieftain at bovvie ;)

That was quick,thank you.

I was correct about it being Russian at least.
I guess it was used mainly on trianing fields as the to does not appear very armoured.
