Cheers Mr Lav, I’ve got a lot to learn to get to Mr Reapers l vel but practice makes perfect eh !
Leave me out of it mate ... lol my work is shit and no one likes it anyway..
Great see you around Mr 332.
I hope with more practice mine can be just as “shit” as yours !!
How hard do you reckon changing a TAMIYA G to an A or D would be ?
Thanks lads.........................appreciate the encouragement.
GOT TRACKS
Thanks to a global search for the right ones, and finding out that Imex do not yet sell or ship outside of the U.S. (but thats about to change folks) I managed to get both a good deal and top comms from RC Tank De.
He dropped the VAT, and talked me through the entire purchase.
Now I didnt pay for these, they were a present from the daughter for helping her buy her first car, & just because Im such a nice guy so it was important to get the lowest price possible.
The ones I got locally turned out to be Mato ones, solid guide horn, open pin, and had MATO cast onto every link on the inside of the track where the roadwheels roll. I was pissed right off and sent them back for a refund.
Beware, unless they are Taigen closed pin, they will be awful.
I have test fitted them in the raw & will get them painted & final fitted this weekend.
Got to say, Taigen full pin tracks are the best thing INCLUDING sliced bread
Almost at the end folks
Tracks are on & received a light wash, with a dust of pencil graphite applied by sitting it on a stand & running the tracks(used my toe to work the transmitter!) while working the pencil over relevant areas.
Added a bit of sponge applied chipping, just to try it out really, seems ok in small areas.
A mate has got a figure for it that he is painting now, so should have him in a week or two(the 'mo will be gone!)
He will be a civilian foreign forced worker or POW that has been 'requisitioned' for his mechanical and construction knowledge !
Over all, Im pretty happy with the outcome, and despite not being the Opus Requiem that Mr Selkirk has achieved, its a fair rendition of a 'D' pressed into service as a rubble clearer.
I may add a little pigment in places, but not until its been run a bit.
