they know exactly what they are doing.
Every new Model do a little step forward - not much - just as much as is required to be a little bit better.
They noticed that many metal parts are bought as accessories - this is the solution for people who are not skilled in craftsmanship
The price will be accordingly high.
e.g. HAYA offer the new Chieftain with a part of this features for £ 700,-

I'm in complete agreement with you there, Shaun!. Still, I prefer the Tamiya (and early Taigen) plate alloy hulls to the cast pot metal ones we see now.
Great sounds and smoking gun, though (I wonder if it comes with a simulated 'Ganja' aroma, or even an oily gunsmoke reek)
Thanks for posting, Jurgen!

The single biggest advantage of the Pot Metal Hulls is the ease with which one can remove those parts of the casting that are obstructive or just plain wrong with a Dremel cutting disc,
For example the misplaced last roller on the Taigen Panzer 4 metal hull (Except the North American Market) or the stupid way the Idler mount on the same hull stops the fitting of track adjusters or the fixed front gearbox output shaft covers that prevent fitting output shaft bearings.
3 steps forward for Heng Long and 2 steps back for Taigen and the sad thing about Taigen is that the Turret on the PZ4 is a work of art, Pity about the Body and the metal hull.
