Hi.
I have noticed that When you do take the time and effort to build and resize the pics and load them up not many people comment on them, plenty look, but very few ask questions or comment on your work which i think makes people think why bother to take the time to do it all, might as well spend the time building and then take a pic of it finished.

That's why people put build pictures on Facebook groups, at least they receive "likes" And it's much easier as FB resize picture for you.

Hmm..trying to acquire 'likes' on social media is an addiction for some people, and a fatuous pursuit. The cynical manipulation, and data gathering behind it all, ought to ring alarm bells for the hapless victims- but no, sadly. It's illegal to text on a mobile (cell) phone when driving in the UK (or even to use a mobile phone)- as it's downright dangerous. In many cases, though, the idiots at the wheel are only responding to social media comments, and desperately seeking the transient 'highs' they derive from 'likes'. I'm glad this Forum has a saner approach to information sharing.
If only one person has a constructive comment on the builds I've posted here, and maybe the occasional plaudit- if the work is worth it, that is- I'm Ok with that. Sharing information on all things relating to the build process is what counts, as well as having a shared interest. Artificial Gratification is not the ultimate goal.
Ronnie, I have four unfinished projects going on in threads here. In time, they should all come to fruition, ere I meet the Grim Reaper (no 'likes to be had from him '). Time and money are the limiting factors, however, as well the temptation to begin another project before finishing the current one. I suspect many of the 6,000 are familiar with that tendency.
Uploading pics can be a pain, and is also time consuming; but adding to the useful pool that is the burgeoing archive, seems to make the effort worthwhile- to those who pipe up with comments, as well as those
who are reticent to contribute.

I agree about FB On our Polish forum (rctank.pl) we have similar pain with uploading photos but somehow lots of builds are documented. Also in our case more traffic and post are ussualy before big events and meetings when everybody rush to finish models

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned Tapatalk, you can load pictures straight from your phone without any resizing necessary

I agree completely with you Wayne I have only ever used tapatalk to upload pictures and it takes less than a couple of minutes, no resizing issues or faffing about. You can post straight from your gallery on your mobile device so any editing etc can be done as and when you please then posted on your chosen forum ( tapatalk covers a wide range ). The app is free and works well like this but for a 77p a month fee you can unlock all of its features, a small price in my opinion. I know some people still use a PC to save photos on but more and more people are now using their mobile devices to perform these tasks and if you are one of them I would highly suggest along with Wayne that you jump on the tapatalk bandwagon and save yourself a lot of hassle

I must say I've never liked the idea of entrusting my images to a third party who can change their terms and conditions at any time, and have always retained a copy of images on my pc. This was proven to me when photobucket changed from free posting to charging fees, and attempted to blackmail me subsequently by blurring my historical images on postings. I currently use Imgur and find this works really well. I would always suggest that any data or images are backed up, as loss of these files can prove distressing, especially if they are unique and non-reproducible. Because you have no control over the third party, you do not know how good or otherwise their disaster recovery procedures are.

The definition of a backup is the job you were going to do when your system crashed (this dates back to the days of floppy disks for those like me who were around when they were the new and exciting media to use!).

Agreed Alwyn, you should always keep copies as a backup for the reasons you mentioned, I have all of mine saved just in case the tech companies hold us to ransom unfortunately this is the way tech is now with more and more things being uploaded/downloaded with no physical copies such as in the music and gaming industries and stored online and in clouds, I don't know if in the future tapatalk will go the same way by making everyone pay but for now I'm happy with their service

Good afternoon!
Lots of stuff to do this year, build-wise and then years more stored in the Tank Room. I'm going to try to do my first double-header this Spring and upgrade the Panther 'G' while I do a build on the Jagdpanther. That should be fun. More and ongoing work with the Stuart then who knows what I will work on come the Winter again. The KR-11 truck just needs a couple of bits to show up in the mail to aid with the lights and electronics and it is mostly done then barring some small, added details. The towed gun for it is just a build kit and will be pure fun to paint and weather. I'll keep taking pics and be better about doing more daily posts like I used to.

I will be interested to see how truck turns out as I have one the same but don’t know what to do with it

The free thing is not as big a deal as it once was. Lots of free sites, pages, forums, social media etc... out there. As I said, one picture download is a pain and I stand by that, but don't get me wrong I enjoy the site a lot and will continue to post things...

Ive got pictures of my last two builds( Tiger & JP) to go on when I get five minutes to downsize em all.....
