I’m going to crawl out onto a small limb here but smokers look so fake with the “out of proportion” appearance. The first thing I remove is the smoke unit. Makes more room for serious electronics or cleaner wiring. Just an old graybeard’s opinion.

In the early days of Heng Long Tanks you could measure the life of the smoker in hours so lots of us did as you do and used the space for something useful,
After all a Tank fitted with a properly serviced petrol engine should not make smoke especially one using fuel injection.
And now one of the selling points of the latest Heng Long Tanks is a smoking gun barrel which seems to ignore the fact that Tanks use smokeless ammunition and have done since WW2. :lolno: and yet most of us (Including me )paint a matte black smudge around the muzzle brake when it would probably show very little sign of use in service.
And as we are often reminded Tamiya Tanks are the epitome of accuracy and they don't have smokers. :shh:
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

If you go to "3:1" gearboxes you can't fit the smoker in there, unless you get the H/L. Just so you know, gearboxes come in three basic configs, High/Low, Mid/Low and Low/Low. In my Pershing I run the black steel, ball bearing Gearboxes from Imex, in the H/L configuration. Have you seen this thread?

You might find it informative. Hope that helps. 8)

OK, first, no offence but you're in Maryland, why are you trying to order from the UK? Go to Imex in Florida. Free shipping over $75 and you'll have the stuff in two or three days. I run the 3:1 H/L in my Pershing for a bit faster top speed (I run the same GBs in my M41 Walker Bulldog), but the 4:1s in your link will also work fine. Here's a link to Imex

And if you order from them make sure to write RCULOVE in the promo code box and Erik will send a free gift.

If you're looking for alternatives, FMP has been offering their double differential gearbox for some time, DKLM offers same exact gearbox under their brand & Hooben recently jumped on the bandwagon with their version due this month.

As always top advise from Max BUT perhaps a cautionary word,
Imex Florida is a Taigen Dealership and Eric is probably the most helpful person in any dealership in the lower 48 but not all Taigen parts are interchangeable with Heng Long Tanks so before dipping into your pocketbook I suggest you always check first

The sight isn't working for me right now. (Imex)

I think I'm going to get the Taigen ones. Thoughts?
