"No' is not a sentence, Mick. A sentence must include a subject and a verb, although a 6mths stretch at HM's convenience might induce a " NOOOOOO...!"

The shortest sentence has only three letters, it's "I am."
One could argue for the two words 'stop' and 'go,' although they're explicit verbs, they can also be a subject as implied commands.
