A certain European NATO War Headquarters is situated inside a mountain,
When a "crash out" was declared we would make our way to this place.
Those with duties deemed relevant to managing the "War" were safely ensconced deep within the mountains many blast defences,
The vehicles that had brought these worthy's to the mountain were parked safely within the first outer defence ring inside the mountain protected by blast doors,
Beyond the outer blast wall was the tented accommodation for the drivers and first line defence forces.
I smiled at what those drivers many of them women thought about when they knew that whatever happened to them at least their car would be okay. :lolno:
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Big parade here in the coming days given the significance of China's 70th anniversary. Some good intel for those interested.

Incidentally, how does the US 'Harrier Pro 3D GTi' move from vertical take off to forward flight when it has to have that huge barn door open just behind the cockpit to allow the forward lift fan to operate? It looks like a massive air brake - a real lash-up! This is not a UK v US arms argument, just an honest observation.

Hmmmm, the US still use the sea harrier, were they forced to buy those?
There are several countries that make parts for the JSF F135 aircraft as risk & revenue sharing partners , Rolls Royce for example make the VTOL lift fan blisk. They also made the thrust vectoring system for the F136..

Wayne, don't misunderstand, I'm not being critical of the US selling the UK a plane, until Airbus came along we loved the 707 and Jumbo, but the US VTOL looks Heath Robinson in design. The marines still use the Sea Harrier because they can't afford the US alternative! Actually, the US government can't afford it either!!

However, back to key question of this thread.. Any good in what way and by what standards? I've not driven one. ;)

I think it would give the American MBT a run for its money, the Chinese aren’t daft

We watched last Tuesday’s extravaganza from start to finish & I have to say China did send a message to the world - it was more of a coming out party for Xi Dada as he showed off China’s latest hardware, 40% of which was displayed publicly for the first time. Sadly, I think it will be the folks in HKG who will get the chance to experience some of this firsthand. Highly doubtful we’ll see any match between the PLA’s newest MBT & it’s USA counterpart - nobody ever wants to go there. Best left to the parade grounds.
