I won’t book it until we get a minimum of ten.

Currently have four including Jumbo and Black Knight.

I see from an earlier meeting that you are running on a wood floor. Are the hall owners okay with metal tracks? Might be worth looking out for rolls of 2nd hand exhibition carpet going cheap.

Sorry, but were just over a week away from 19th and only 4 interested since announced 3 weeks ago and the halls still not booked (10 needed) so l'm afraid l need to make alternate plans. Maybe if you took a small risk and booked the venue first you would get more commitment?

Please take this as constructive advice from someone who has organised RC national, European and World events for over 10 years. Book your meets a year in advance, make the calendar very public and get advance online bookings set up with PayPal. Simple for you and everyone else too. Council halls are always looking for bookings and are usually well equipped.

Tell you what, you drum up the interest and I’ll book the hall when we have enough people.

For some reason we can’t scrabble ten local people to play tanks and that’s really sad. May as well leave them on the shelf or sell them!

Thank you to those who replied and were interested.

Both sad and puzzling. There doesn't appear to be anything in or around London either. How does Grantham do it so consistently?

No, sorry.

I kinda gave up due to the lack of members turning up consistently.

Covid has killed it off this last year anyway.

The scenery is available for someone to kick start it again!

We would be interested in the scenery but I'm not allowed to post in the FOR SALE area of the forum (this only comes if you have 50 posts or more on the forum for some reason).
I hope the club does survive in some shape or form -don't give up!
COVID has put a pause on everything at present, so this factor is neither here nor there really. The world will restart again in the near future.

The 50 posts are a limit for posting an advert in that section, call it a type of feedback for forum members to gauge what the poster is like, and whether they want to do business.
But, there is no limit needed to purchase from established forum members.

The reason is so that it encourages members to contribute worth-while to the membership & spirit of the forum, and isnt just a drop in centre for opportunistic types that really dont want to actively participate unless there is something in it for them.............
Thats why, and even then at 50 , thats no licence to ride either.
