New project Matilda 3/4
Before heading off to our autumn Spanish trip I have been toying with ideas for a winter project and came up with the Matilda
I think several members have expressed an interest in this tank so I thought I might investigate the possible complexity of this build. I think the Panzer 3/4 tracks are about the right size, although they aren't the right profile, but given that the tracks are mainly covered by the side sponsons then it could be a possibility.

And l have a 1/72 one in my loft. By all accounts, they were very good at climbing hills. Being heavy little buggers, l hope they had good brakes to come down again!

If they were anything like the brakes on English cars (even right up to the 80s) they would have been in real low gear with the escape hatch open !General Jumbo01 wrote:And l have a 1/72 one in my loft. The Queen of the Desert, eh? Lots of interesting and complex shapes in the glacis and mantlet, they'd definitely be too complex for styrene sheets. Time for the OpenSCAD maestro to do his thing. I'll be watching this with interest, Alwyn!
