Re: Smoke cannister ejector?
Good afternoon,
Smoke screen bomb canisters\candles were found on specialized mounts on the turret and generally only on early Tigers. What you have there is the anti infantry canister thrower, ( 'S' mine ) another thing found mounted on early Tigers ( on the deck ) . They were supplanted by a turret mounted launcher under an armored cover on some middle but mostly late Tigers

Painless

I want to add the smoke candles to my turret mounted launchers. Any link showing how to scratch build these?

Good afternoon,
The ones pictured were very simple, 4mm shot in black with a tip of yellow paint. Get yourself the Aber set or the Voyager set for the launchers that have the wire and chains, etc in brass. Really adds some detail to those mounts.

Right you are! I’m on it.
Update: Just ordered the set from rctank.de. Not cheap but it’s my only rc tank so I can splurge a little I apologize for hijacking this thread.

Re: Smoke cannister ejectors?
Smoke Canisters were first fitted to the Tiger 1 in August 1942, New Build Tiger 1s ceased having them installed after June 1943,
They were usually Turret mounted in two groups of three with one group on each side of the Turret,
The Tanks already fitted with them often retained them which is why some Tiger 1s were pictured after June 1943 with them still installed.
The Top picture shows S-Minen Projectors which were fitted from January 1943 until October 1943,
There would usually be one projector on each of the four corners of the Tiger 1.

I think I am about to upset someone

I'll be damned. Is this some Aber set installed? Love the detail on pics.PainlessWolf wrote:Good afternoon,
