King Kong RC M26 Wheels

Post by Xiaoshan_Sailor »

The road wheels on my Tamiya Pershing are shot & falling apart from bearing lubricant so I want to replace with metal. I don't care to retrofit using the HL aftermarket parts so was curious if anyone here has purchasing those made by King Kong RC?

Any & all comments welcome. Thanks.

I believe DKLM gets their 2A6 idler wheels from KKRC. They're also machined 304SS & brass, not die cast zamac parts.

Nice, but a tip here. All mineral based lubricants will attack plastics so only use special lubes made for plastics. Model railway specialist shop usually carry the type you need.

Re lube, I understand that point well. Funny thing is I never oiled these bearings & hardly ran the tank over the years - it's been a shelf queen for the past 6-7 years so I wasn't amused when the wheels started to fall apart just looking at it. :O

Been looking at their metal suspension arms and torsion bars for my Trumpeter Abrams conversion. Should just pull the trigger and buy the parts already...

As Gomer Pyle used to say years before, "SHAZAM!" Ordered these Saturday night & they appeared on my desk Monday 0845.

Package is superb & the parts are very nice, actually better than I expected & are assembled to boot. I'll look at more closely once I get home this evening.
