Hi all
Looked at a Tamiya tank for many years as I like the scale modelling combined with RC, and now finally bought one, well ordered at least. Are there any clubs in S.Wales?
Thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Welcome to the forum, which tamiya tank have you ordered ? I'm not to far away from yourself, just over the top in Merthyr, there are quite a few rc tankies up this way now but not a local club unfortunately, there are plans to get an old site down near Barry Island back up and running but we'll have to wait and see on that one
Cheers, Lee.

Hello and welcome to the forum Andrew
Yes indeed, pray tell which Tamiya kit you've ordered
Although I'm partly Welsh, I've only spent a few days in South Wales.
Enjoy the forum.
Mick.

Hi all again, It’s a Panzer full option kit, when it arrives!
What is needed to set out a ‘site’ and how does a battle work?
Regards
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Nice choice with the panzer IV kit, I have one myself but its still a work in progress. The basic answer to your question of what do you need for a tank site is ' space ' clubs hold meetings in a variety of locations, I'd say the majority are held inside such as a village hall or community centre etc, the benefit that these have is that they can take place no matter what the weather over an outside site which in this country may not get the use because of our unpredictable climate scenery, obstacles and scale buildings will all add to the overall effect, take a look at this forum thread created by one of our members, it is a stunning example of what can be achieved albeit in sunnier climes, viewtopic.php?f=188&t=17333, as far as tank battles go the tamiya rules are deemed to be the standard although heng long and torro have their own systems, take a look around the forum most things have their own section which should explain things in a little more detail
Cheers, Lee.
