Smoke Oil Recipe

Post by Alstone »

Has anyone got a recipe for smoke oil? I have read that 30% Glycerine to 70% distilled  water works ok, but never tried it yet.

Any comments or recipes?

To update this post I bought a bottle of Glycerin and made a mixture of 1/3rd Glycerin and 2/3rds Distilled water, mixed it up well and fed it to the smoke generator with excellent results. Total cost for about a pint of mixture was £2.00.

Have fun

might be a silly question but where can I get Glycerin from? I know you can get distilled water from car spares places.

Nice tip
how do you make black smoke(engine running rich) or blue smoke (worn piston rings)  ??? ??? ???
would make the tanks look more real when running  :) :) :)
