Re: My Tiger Tank Project
Hi, There were two standard Colours for German Army Fire Extinguisher Body's,
In Northern Europe and the Soviet Union is was dark Green,
In Southern Europe and North Africa it was desert sand.
The retaining strap was desert sand colour.
The frame was dark green for the Northern Europe/Soviet Union one,
The frame was desert sand for the Southern Europe/North Africa one.
I use the Black label on all my extinguishers.
I use the other decals as warning labels on the inside of hatches on all my German Army Tanks,
Any piece of military equipment comes with instruction and warning labels after all and I defy anyone to be able to actually read the decals

Re: My Tiger Tank Project
That is an expensive but fantastic looking piece of kit.
Re: My Tiger Tank Project
Yes, it was a bit pricey but I love it. It’s just one of the many nuances of detailing these tanks that makes it rewarding for me.
Re: My Tiger Tank Project
I know this is redundant for most but I can’t help being proud of this fire extinguisher kit. I think it turned out fairly well for an old guy like me. After these photos I painted it dark green and will soon add the the decal before applying a coat of dull finish. I think it’s going to look great on the Tiger. Oops. I just noticed that I glued a small part upside down. Gotta go fix that before I can sleep tonight!
Re: My Tiger Tank Project
This extinguisher in its self is a fine piece of modelling, looking forward to seeing the whole finished project.
I never finish anyth
Re: My Tiger Tank Project
Thank you, square4 and thanks to those who informed me on the proper color. Here it is all finished and mounted.

Re: My Tiger Tank Project
Now that is a superb looking model in itself, so realistic

Great work, I can see why it’s so expensive!

Re: My Tiger Tank Project
Beautiful weather today so I took a few outdoor shots. I got the decals applied and the fire extinguisher mounted. I’m waiting on the photo etched clamp set before I add the metal tow cables. The cables are smaller diameter than the Heng Long plastic version which is perfect for the initial production Tiger.
After I get the tow cables mounted I’ll add some final weathering and call it finished. Maybe.
