No problem dude, you will have to take the turret off, remove the turret base ( about 10 screws!) to gain access to the inside of the turret. You will see two plastic pins behind the cip panel, cut around these, then on the outside of the turret insert a thin knife between the cip panel and turret side and prise it off. Job done! Feel free to ask anymore questions!

Cheers for the info , just done it and it wasn't as hard as I thought , though slightly terrifying as I slowly prised them off , any suggestions for a filler material for the mounting holes that are left ?

I used milliput super fine, but any modeling filler will do, so what else you planning on your chally?

Thanks for the recommendation , So far I have installed a 360 traverse turret ring and associated wiring , metal tracks which I have blued following a guide from here and am awaiting the arrival of a metal gearbox , once that is installed the plan is to replicate the non slip treatment and a coat of an appropriate green .

Sounds like a plan! Check out scalawags build I pinched his idea for the no slip 'tamiya texture paint' as for colour used Tamiya olive drab and nato/ flat black

Not updated this for a while as my idler assembly was busted and was deciding what to do, the dklm idler kit although beautifully made was way to expensive so I thought I would see if the henntec leopard 2 idler adjuster would work as I had a spare one and with abit of adjustment it does work although if your worried about it looking realistic your out of look, bit as this is an area you can't really see I can live with it!

So this is what happens when you upgrade all your drive train accept the idler adjuster and run hard off road!

So if your familiar with the henntec adjuster you can see that I have had to space the adjuster out from the Hull side with about 8mm of plasticard, then you can mount the adjuster to clear the front Hull plate, you will have to measure the position of the idler wheel originally and mount the henntec adjust in roughly the same spot. It's not uber crucial as you will now have some adjustment

Now you will have to also space the idler arm about 2-3mm out from the idler mount using washers, this may take so trial and error to make sure the idler wheel runs in line with the road wheels

I also place one 2mm washer between the idler arm/idler wheel to get everything in line.
This is by now means a technically correct method and obviously it will not look like the real thing but for all those chally 2 owners with busted idlers it's a ghetto fix that also allows you some track tension adjustment and is cheap! Any way hope this helps some one, got me back up and running! Sorry for the lack of step by step details but I just busted this out one afternoon!
