Saracen,
Why did you grind your arms off?
I may do mine now I’m this far apart to correct the wheel alignment.

The fibreglass had deteriorated and couldn't support the weight of the tank, so all the wheels were splayed out.

This was supposed to be the first step to getting it into a metal lower hull, but then I found so many problems with the wheels, the suspension arms etc, that I just shelved it until I could have a fresh run at it.

There is a lot of hull flex, mainly at the front so I will add braces to help.

Full steel chassis maybe later.

Do you know how to get the road wheels off?

May be a metal tub if you don't go for a full metal chassis?

On the ISU-152 they were just epoxied to the bearings. I heated them with a hot air gun to destroy the epoxy and pulled them off.

The bearings are odd paired things. I suppose a pair of new bearings with a spacer would work just the same.

Batteries are now relocated and secured with a strap. so much happier with this.
Also wiring has been improved but needs some other changes.

I can now get the batteries out through the turret if needed.

So fist outing to Grandparents house with a large garden, all going great and sounding fine until

Chain to the right rear came off due to the rear sprocket coming loose, and jammed into the chassis so had to wheelbarrow back and attempt to fix but couldn't with limited tools.

Oh well tomorrows another day.

Unlucky mate, the larger sprocket looks to be at an odd angle to the shaft.
It’ll mend

Motor to rear axle drive sprocket is about 5mm out of alignment on the side that came off and 3mm out on the other side, not sure wether to just fix the lot now by doing the steel chassis or keep plastering it until it breaks properly.

I would consider fixing it right if budget allows. My reason for this is you may wind up paying for it in the end with damaged drivetrain parts and motors etc... much more to pay for and eventually it may have to be done right anyway
Tanks alot....
