For future sectional printing, would it help with the bonding if the sides were dove tailed?

Dovetailing does make it better I guess because of the increased surface area being bonded but in my opinion it doesn’t really matter that much as the areas bonded are so big

Oh, ok. Just wondered about the strength of such a long structure with just butt joints.
If you ever do run into trouble with them, you could knock up some butterfly shapes, like a double ended dove tail, and cut out a corresponding shape in the two sections to be joined.

A bit more done but run out of filament again lol





It’s starting to become a bit of a whopper at 490mm tall without any suspension, wheels or tracks...
