Re: HL Panther rework
Hi Soeren You can buy gear and pulley packs from hobby and robotics stores. Tried to use pulleys and rubber band first but never worked . Always had slipping/ binding issues with the turret rotation . If the turret ring fitted the lower hull without some slop it should have worked. One day i will try the Tamiya leopard turret ring if i am brave enough to cut up hull and turret.
Re: HL Panther rework
Hi Soeren They are Waltersons gears. Comes with a plate for gearboxs to sit on, 3 sizes of gears to fit motor and a gear puller if you want to change the ratio. The newer ones are steel gears instead of brass.
Re: HL Panther rework
New metal sprockets and idlers to replace wobbly plastic HL ones. Sprockets not very good had to file down , inner side quite thick.Might need another go on the teeth look like a wider profile . Changed gearbox's to Taigen ones, fitted a new base for the gears . Going to use the Waltersons ones for the metal lower hull . Had to drill new fixing holes in Taigen gearbox as the original holes are under gearwheels and spindles.
Re: HL Panther rework
Just about sorted the wiring added a fuse to battery lead as i am using 3C lipo,s
Re: HL Panther rework
Fixing the missing part above the cleaning rod tube. Was going to repaint but i found this . From Missing -Lynx forum
Two tone brown
Dec 09, 2003 #10
Just to add a bit more confusion and controversy; a number of U.S. vets I have spoken to and written to have insisted that they observed German vehicles with two distinct shades of brown in their paint jobs. The most obvious combination, to me anyway, would be a combination of the primer coat with a coat of the "rotbraun (provide your own number-all that stuff is too confusing anyway)." I should add that the two shades of brown was seen by these vets in combination with the famous dunkelgelb and whatever we're calling the green shade this week.

Re: HL Panther rework
Going to keep the Hl lower hull , Taigen hull will be saved for the Trumpeter project . Fitting supports for the sprockets and taking the edge off the lip on outer road wheels .
Re: HL Panther rework
Fixing another problem , no forward deck joint. Tidy up turret and hull cables and paint interior.
Re: HL Panther rework
Nice addition, but your joint would be proper for a F hull not a G.
Re: HL Panther rework
Hi Soeren Looks like we are both wrong , weld line at turret ring. Should have looked at the Trumpeter kit to check. Better get the filler out now
