The Aliexpress soldier has several "grips" so you won't mess up you fingers while painting.
On his head there was a grip too.
Had to cut it off to see if the Schiffchen hat would fit the size of the head....

As you can see, it did not fit perfectly, but that was all I had, so I had to make it work.
I already had something in mind to make it look good
Here he is with his new boots and Schiffchen hat

Another missing part was that thing they kept their gas masks in.
You know these things.....they come with a cabinet or so, one of those you need to assemble yourself

Looks a bit similar to the gasmask thingy, so it was useful for me

Cut some grooves into the wood to simulate the leather belt with which it is hanging on the soldier's shoulder

Back to his head issue again.
The soldier was already wearing a piece of cloth around his head to protect him from the Russian Eastern winds.
My idea was to make a piece of cloth and wrap it around his head and Schiffchen

If you consider the parts which were missing, and what I tried to make out of it, I may say I like it a lot!
Was quite some work, but worth all the effort.
Ciao, Rob.

Is anyone else having problems with the pictures? None of them are visible on my phone or my laptop.
