SOLUTION for HL Abrams Metal Hull
SOLUTION for HL Abrams Metal Hull
As you know, there is an Abrams metal hull available for like $700.
The solution is you can buy the Tamiya hull from Tamiya’s website, and just stick the HL top on it!
I mean for around $150 you can have a FULL metal lower...no more arms pulling out of the plastic hull or any of that BS.
The Tamiya metal lower hull is only $43, the arms only $39
A few other bits and pieces...it’ll be $600 less than the current offering
I just ordered it, the suspension arms and most of the other required bits (the family Abrams manual is available for DL on their website)
I will start a build thread when it arrives.
I bought the front axle kit, but that still doesn’t solve the weak suspension arm mounting issue. Metal
Arms with just a single shear screw into plastic sucks quite frankly. This will solve all of those issues
Here is my baby as it sits now

Re: SOLUTION for HL Abrams Metal Hull
I have to ask How compatible will the Heng Long Abram's Body be to the Tamiya Abram's Metal Hull ?
And given the difficulty of sourcing Tamiya sprues for a Panzer 4 or a Tiger 1 how easy is it to obtain the Tamiya Abram's parts ?

Re: SOLUTION for HL Abrams Metal Hull
Apparently you can source ALL from Tamiya directly from their website
Re: SOLUTION for HL Abrams Metal Hull
Just bought a Torro Leopard 2A6 full Metal edition (hull, wheels, everytbing) from eBay.
Will he selling one of the Abrams and 1 of the KTs, possibly both KTs as there is also this new full metal KT out by Torro as well...time to upgrade my 2015 tanks to 2018 tabks

Re: SOLUTION for HL Abrams Metal Hull
I'm not sure if this is the Abram metal hull you're talking about. if yes, congratulation! the price is much lower at about $400. at the same time, there also the Challenger2 available at similar price.
H/L Pantiger, H/L Leopard 2A6, Mato Panzer III, Hybrid Tiger 1 and some tank wreckage

Was there a solution here or just a thought?

Adding nylock nuts to the tops of the screws on the L side of the gearboxes add SIGNIFICANT strength.
