A Commander Retrospective
Good morning,
I just wanted to throw out a collection of pics of tank commanders redone ( key word is redone here ;o) by me over time. These are in no particular chronological order but I think you will be able to spot the early ones! ;o)
( Click to enlarge as usual )

Great work, PW. Some of those guys are a real challenge but you have them looking good. That last guy even bears a slight resemblance to The Duke himself (IMHO). Now we need truck drivers, Man, truck drivers! My kingdom for a truck driver!
Also, tires are close to done, a few days for rims and you'll be getting a PM. Rims for one ten-wheeler, without the spare, takes 19 hours to print. 3D printers are great, but definitely NOT for those with patience issues, can ya dig it?

When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Gary! Good afternoon!
Thanks again for the kind words ( and the wheels and rims to make my 1950 GAZ come to life ) The camera on my Note' is more revealing than I like at times but this thread is about getting better at the craft and I can see things are getting a little more realistic. I will have to dig up a truck driver to make the GAZ complete!
regards,
Painless

Nice work, Painless!
I'm working on a couple of figures, myself.

Gentlemen!
Thank you! I did the best I could at the time with the early Heng Long figures. The moveable figures, I wisely left the faces alone and concentrated on uniforms and insignia giving them a dull coat afterwards. I did the best with the quality Tamiya and resin and metal figures. Still learning, always will be I expect ;o)

Re: A Commander Retrospective
Mornin' Tom,
You mean the King Tiger Commander? That poor figure was so messed up that even after a lot of sanding and trimming, he still ended up looking like he had survived a brew up. I may revisit him with a better uniform and paint when I redo that tank. I've learned a few tricks since then that may make him look more human.
