I thought I'd finished my first one but just bought off Bangood an updated 370 motor/2 speed gearbox with gear change servo to fit the WPL US truck - so should fit the Zil. The Zil has a 6 channel receiver fitted so should work a treat.

If anyone who has a HL/WPL/JJRC 6x6 is still operating it with the supplied electronics (stop/go/full left/right) and would like a short tutorial to get it to full proportional standards with sound for the price of a round of coffee and cakes in that well know high street coffee shop....just ask!

Good morning,
The Seller of my 'Zil' finally got back to me and we settled on a partial refund that I will now use to buy replacement parts. This truck is worth a Build so I will eventually do something similar to Jumbo's version. I think I will add a light set tho, run off of a separate switch to give it some extra working detail.
regards,
Painless

You can get r/c controlled switches to do simple lights. You dedicate a spare channel then plug in to your receiver the lead to the tiny circuit board switch (there are double switch boards on eBay now) and this allows you switch on and off remotely. You can turn on heads and tails via one switch and still have one free.

Good afternoon!
Thank you for the info and the Link! I normally use FlySky IS 6 Ten Channel receivers but the truck should not require that level of complexity even if I add sound. Things to think about.

I use exactly the same transmitter - great spec and price - but given the low cost of the SkyFly 6 channel receivers you may just as well use them. Using the switches is a simple way to toggle through the switch options - click to turn on switch 1, click again to turn off 1 and on 2, click again for both, click.again to turn off 1 and make 2 go through an effects routine, click again for all off. That's just two stick, one switch so 3 channels. The sound piggy backs the throttle channel. That leaves 3 channels to operate the missile racks or the recovery crane!!

BTW, l have a 10 channel.receiver but I've never found s need to fit it! There are so any smart control systems out there for regular RC. Less so for tanks :(

With one of the last clarks I think you use about 10 channels.
With Open Panzer all functions are 16 channels.

I need a minimum of 18 channels, and 36 switch positions in my radio for my tanks....
