Handy to see what can be done..............I get that they are not RC(now) but wow.........
Some fantastic reference and very high finish to what are as we all know, very basic starter models.

Excellent!, but don't give up. Just raise your bar.
Some exceptional detail work, shows what can be done with the basic HL tanks.
Thanks for sharing, Herman.

Excellent and inspiring models. We each have reached a specific level in skills, decided what is important to us, developed our own style and decided how much efforts and time we want to put on a tank.
I very much agree with Barry. Seeing beautiful work raises the bar and makes me want to do a better job than my previous work. Its also good to get out of the comfort zone and experiment new stuff rather than building the same model over and over again.
Besides, unless you have gardening or cooking skills... you can’t give up.

Yes yes that's all very well but nowhere near enough wing nuts and what happened to the tow hook on the back of the Tiger 1?
In truth an example of what can be done with a "Cheepo" Heng Long Tank.
You don't have to spend a fortune on a Tamiya to get good results.
You just have to be a modelling genius

Re: I THINK I MIGHT JUST GIVE UP !!!!!
I genuinely don't see any work there that is beyond the average club model maker - it just takes time and practice to develop the skills and - most of all - the courage to give a new technique a go. Before long, it'll be another skill mastered!
However, some of the static model makers would die of fright when asked to make one of their models work, and....
Weathering. It seems that the trend is to wreck, rust and generally exaggerate each panel seam to oblivion and beyond. I've seen model railway locos so distressed that if was a wagon I'd refuse to be pulled by it.
We all do our thing our way but, most important of all, we experiment, take chances, stretch ourselves and develop whilst having fun on the way. You keep at it Corporal Bix!

Thanks for sharing this Mr Bix. They really look quite extraordinary, but I agree with the others so far....
There are many masters right here on the forum IMHO, and your work is truly inspiring in itself.
Interiors are nice and really difficult to make perfect, but something must be said for the gents who not only paint and weather but also automate and make scale models drive and come to life.
Besides, you mr Bix are my favourite Kiwi modeller

It’s the kind of detailing that I think we sometimes omit due to knowing it’ll all fall off in the heat of battle!
