Things are cropping up on the interweb all the time, alloy wheels? wireless cab mounted camera's to link to your phone? trailers? There are groups on Facebook dedicated to the WPL trucks, though we seem to have some incredible builds right here on this forum.

Just need a tank transporter and trailer off the shelf...

These trucks have taken off big time, seems like the whole world has latched onto them. This being the case, we can all expect numerous variants in futire.

Now...I like those!

Especiall the 6WD version. Look a lot more period than the previous one, which looked far more 'post war' in design.

Now.....where did I put that creadit card....

Tank transporters?

The Bruder low loaders are easily modified and are easy to find new on eBay for under forty quid complete. You can extend them by chopping a second example or by fabrication gap fillers. This is one of my fleet that moves the collection's tanks from their base in Essex (sorry) to their sister site in North Norfolk. Speaking of buying two to make one, the 6x6 on the back is a pair of modified WPL 4x4s which uses alternative electrics, including twin tiny motors with built in reduction gearboxes which are mounted in a 3D printed motor bracket (eBay again). The spare parts created the static (for now) hauler cab sitting on another low loader, pre-chop.

However, the new WPL Russian truck is just what l need to haul my scratch built Russian fuel bowser, so much more appropriate than a KV-1!

Now here is a valid moan... how is it the 1/16 Bruder range matches the Tamiya 1/14 truck range and neither match the 1/16 tank ranges from them all? The Tamiya driver is another scale again or he is over 7ft tall! I can see another driver moving in.

Its crazy that both scales exist and originated from the same manufacturer. Too late to fix things now, just as collector and sales numbers are taking off.ImageImageImage

Oh Christ! Another new member who knows what he is doing. Best pull our socks up!!

The Tamiya figures are way oversize, burly Germans that would have had the Tommies running for the hills if they were really that big.

Excellent work on the trucks, flawless.

Its all your faults....l just bought a pair of 6x6 ones! As with other HL/WPL examples, l suspect these JJRC models will be little more than a nice rolling chassis that will need gutting and rebuilding with good electronics but the plastic cosmetic parts are goid. I'll build one as the truck as presented and the second as a special. Plenty of time to decide as the far east sellers are using the phrase 'pre-order', August deliveries.

Why two? I paid e-bay prices for the first and then discovered another source at £15 less from a high risk, poor reputation, personal favourite outfit of mine - I'll never learn.0
