Andrews Design 1/16 SD233

Post by chrisbids33 »

Thought I'd share my newest addition - the Andrews 1/16 SD223. A real bugger to build - nowhere near Tamiya quality ! Had to improvise in a number of areas to get it together - even the large number of metal parts needed alot of work. The end result isn't too bad though and it is quite a good runner with proportional speed and 4 wheel steering. The piccie shows it without the antenna - removed for the light weathering - it'll go back on next w/end. Let me know what you think.

Hi Chaps. Glad you like it. I got this one off EvilBay for £250, but you don't see them very often on the 'tat bazaar'. Tankzone sell them too, but they're not cheap !

£360 without radio gear ! I use the 2.4Ghz system with a £50 ESC. Total cost > £500 ! If you're thinking of getting one, bear in mind that they're not like Tamiya kits - the build is quite difficult due to the metal parts being heavily 'flashed' and the resin parts needing alot of work before a good-fit could be achieved. Well worth the effort though, as the finished model is really sturdy and runs really well.

Cheers

Chris.

P.S. Have a few more shots if peeps are interested ?

Chris, I have one of the 223's in kit form when I get chance I will build it to go with my 222
