DKLM gearbox brace.
Fitted gearboxes with 3:1 reductions.
Compared the new columnlight to the molded plastic counterpart.
Removed plastic and fitted new one.
Attached all parts to the rear plate and started adding the Tamiya Zimmerit stickers.
Added miscellaneous items and zimmerit to upper hull.
Plugged holes that aren't used in this kit.
Fitted the bigger turret rollers from Schumo.
Periscopes added.
Used the standard Tamiya MG to make a coax MG for the KT.
Removed plastic, fitted metal spare track holders and testfit with the Tamiya tracks with the RC trackpins.
Rear escape hatch swapped for the Schumo one.
Making the Non-RC trackpins.
Airbrushed the plastic wheel caps, added bearings and fitted the road wheels to the tank. Also a picture of the current state.

Looks great so far mate... 2 things be careful with the gear downs they destroy gearboxes really easy.... and with added weight of the brass muzzle break you may want to glue the clutch up on the elevation unit, KT's get a lot of barrel slap depending on the terrain your driving on.
Cheers Ken

I like the way you have listed all of the components, paints, and upgraded parts. It's always instructive to see what is used in a build, and how it's used I shall be interested to see how you connect up that convoy light, in particular, to standard Tamiya electronics..and more besides.

Thanks I'll be watching the 3:1 reductions closely. I just wanted to try those things.Reaper332 wrote:Looks great so far mate... 2 things be careful with the gear downs they destroy gearboxes really easy.... and with added weight of the brass muzzle break you may want to glue the clutch up on the elevation unit, KT's get a lot of barrel slap depending on the terrain your driving on.

I noticed the play in the elevation when I assembled it. I might take a look to see if I can improve it. But first I need to find out how to mount the Aber muzzle break
I also have almost all their Tamiya Tiger I upgrades as well, so I'm ready for it when the KT is done.Marco Peter wrote:Rob, VERY VERY nice!

Thank you. To connect the headlight and convoy light I drew up a diagram:43rdRecceReg wrote:I like the way you have listed all of the components, paints, and upgraded parts. I also drew up a diagram for the coax and hull MG.

All those extras and no Atak zimmerit!
Looks great but I would add the above...

Re: Tamiya Tiger II (H) Sla. 16
I like the subtle zimmerit but I'll maybe use the Atak in another build or maybe make my own with the stamps from Imperial Modellbau.Ad Lav wrote:All those extras and no Atak zimmerit!

Re: Tamiya Tiger II (H) Sla. 16
A really great job there! Which glue did you use to attach the plastic wheel inserts to the metal wheels?
