Vandra Ram II Canadian Sherman conversion - Build
Re: Vandra Ram II Canadian Sherman conversion - Build
Hi,
This is a YouTube video of the Ram II running trials. The tank works well but I still need practice on the Clark TK-22 commands...

Hi,
Thank you everybody for your encouragements throughout the build. We can say many things about the issues of the kit, the bottom line is that without it, I would not have a Ram tank... I had some doubts at one point but also some good surprises.
Cutting and sanding resin makes it a fast but really dirty business that is probably not for everyone. I had to wear a N95 mask the whole duration of the build, even if all the medium and heavy lifting was done outside in the wind. But considering that I started Dec 23rd, with the holidays and the 2 weeks that I put the build aside waiting for the Shapeways parts, It is a relatively short build time. We all have our own style and that is good. I like to use materials that are easy to work with or that do not require special tooling, so it's fast. There is limited technology involved and this is the kind of build regular modellers can do.
I took out the tank outside today in the late afternoon when the sun peeked out a bit, creating various shades and colors with the tank in the white snow. I will post some more pics later once the crew and other items are done and tank is completely finished.
Regards, Louis

Hi,
And finally, this is how I finished the Canadian crew figures. I did some rearrangements and also removed the scarf from the commander figure. These Vandra figures are of very good quality. They can be adapted to any British tank.

Spectacular work
In fact the tank stands out in all its glory against the background of that white stuff Ive seen on T.V. !!
Sure is an odd, quirky tank executed supremely well.

Those figures look great and are an excellent way to top off an already astonishing build!
Since the forum's resident Canadian has built some armour from his country, mabey you could build a Bob Semple tank Herman.
