Planetary-bevel gearbox «SKAT»

Post by Kostyanchik »

Hello! I want to share with you the developments.
I've always liked the gearbox modelspiegel (afterwards the eto-armor), and also I admired the technology of the planetary gearboxes.
I decided to make my own gearboxes using a planetary gearbox and a bevel gear. Planetary-bevel gearbox «SKAT» are designed for installation in taigen/torro tanks. The result is the following:

Installation in the tank is simple, a special stencil was made for marking the corresponding holes.
Removes standard gearboxes.
Using a stencil, mark out new holes.
We drill new holes and installing gearboxes "SKAT".

So where are you getting the motor and planetary gear units? This looks very nice. And do you have a website?

Planetary gearboxes and bevel gears are ordered in China. He tried many different things while he found the right quality. Planetary gearboxes are completely metal.

The case is made on the 3d model to order on the cnc machine. Lead shafts are made on a lathe.

I do not have a website. Tank modeling is my hobby.

They have the virtue of looking simple and very solid. Having the motors at 90 deg to the usual arrangement, where motors- and even electrical terminals- can almost touch, is also a superior setup, I think  It means there's no great need for the High/low, Middle/low and Lo/Lo motor orientations for differing tank spaces. It's often a real pain finding the correct combination  . I'm sure many here will be interested in them. I know I am. :)
They appear easy to service too...
