Unfortunately, I discovered my Gorilla glue gel was empty and I was too impatient to get the legs on but I will get some more.

I was in a real quandary over the gunner's seat yesterday. Trying the gunner in situ, without his legs, it was apparent that every time the gun fired, the recoil would send him flying. Also, I could not see how to get his hands on both of the control wheels. Videos of troops firing similar weapons seem to show the operator spinning both wheels at the same time to alter the elevation and rotation. I could, of course, just not put a gunner in place. However, having gone to the expense of the figures, I can not bring myself not to fit them, so with apologies to Alwyn, I have altered the seat position. I bent the brass supporting rod to the left as per the photo (another field modification!).

The gunner now sits slightly to one side of the gun sight but look a lot happier in relation to the control wheels. I hope you approve.

Please excuse the fingers. He is slightly top heavy and will not sit up straight on his own.

Please note that the gun is not fixed in place at present. With it in its proper place there was no room to work on it.

Looks great Richard, no problems with any modifications, it's a base kit so anything is up for modification as you build. It's coming along really well.

My latest order from prime-miniatures having arrived in the form of 0.8mm washers and nuts, I have been able to compete the periscopes.

I thought I would start to finalize the fighting compartment so I fitted the ammunition lockers. I then refitted the 88, which revealed a major problem.

Bending the seat bracket meant the gunner sat quite beautifully at the control. However, as you can see, the seat completely fouls the ammo locker. There is very little margin for error. Back to the drawing board.

In general, I tried to make the compartment a bit grubbier - it looked too pristine. I think I may have overdone it a little, but it is what it is - I'm not going to clean it up.

I need some simple, probably black numbers, approx 10mm high for the beast. I can find Letraset type but no waterslide. I shall be grateful if anyone has experience of the Letraset type or can give me a source for something suitable.

Have you checked out peddinghaus?

They must have something.

I have some black numbers but maybe 15-20mm high.

I will do. The numbers on the Nashorns seem to be much smaller than on tanks.
