Brilliant solution on the smoker outlets, Nick. It's not easy having the smoker in the lower hull and the exhaust in the upper hull, but this is the most elegant idea I've seen. Great work on the model, keep it up!

Next to sort out are the side frames that hold the side armour. To get the right profile each cross piece is made of two lengths of plastic strip cut from sheet and rounded on the edges. Lots of reference to original photos for all this. There were they think about 8 Enigmas built all slightly different. The spatial armour is made out of armour plate layered with rubber between, in some cases it was found to have had no rubber fitted which points toward a lower tech manufacturing process not quite back street garage but certainly not high end engineering. The exhaust cover is welded on and the weld detail is added. I've drilled out the holes in the exhaust port which is used to

The front spatial armour on the sides is simply mounted to a folded steel plate welded at the appropriate angle.. Lots of small bead welds to replicate

I did have photos of the enigma in Bovington but when I decided to change my mind I deleted them.

Good progress
