Re: FEHRMANN GRUPPE TIGER 05
Yes Sir it’s a Taigen late.
It has the stick on zim on it but I would remove it and use the melt method on the hull & of course putty on the metal turret.
In all honesty, there is not a lot that needs to be done on the turret really , unless you plan a real hybrid say with a pz4 bin on the back for example,
It’s a very good unit.

Good to know. Thanks. I'm looking at doing a mid and was uncertain of the "mod-ability" of the turret. But, if it doesn't really need it...HERMAN BIX wrote:Yes Sir it’s a Taigen late.

How do you ensure the putty sticks to the metal? Seems it might come off easier than on the plastic.

Re: FEHRMANN GRUPPE TIGER 05
I would "key" it.
Use a very rough and I mean excessively rough abrasive on the metal surface so that the metal is raised to the touch.
Clean it with thinners, and a clean brush.
The putty should stay put.
Or.............prep the same way but use an automotive body filler & make the imprint of zim as normal.
The PzIV in the picture is one of the very latest offerings from Taigen and it also is magnificent.
Fitted with a version 2 electronics set up and an all metal hull.

Nope- no dime mate..............goodwill onlyphilipat wrote:Nice! Get to have fun on someone else's dime with the commission work.
So, the Tiger with the metal turret. Is that a Taigen mid-production? I'm curious as to your opinion of the ability to work with the metal turret and its zimmerit in terms of either adding details or chipping the zimmerit.

Good idea on "keying" it. Automotive filler would probably be the best route.
Will you be posting the work you do on these? I'm keen to watch what you do with the PzIV and the new lower metal hull. I also just noticed that there is a Panther in there. So, there's a few of my future projects on your bench and I'm getting lots of ideas from your work.

On the metal, I already tried it with an adhesive primer some DIY supermarkets or automotive shops have it. It can help.

I'm loving the stash of goodness! Can't wait to see everything finished up.
I just came across the picture of the kugel with the radar a few days ago. Took me a bit to figure out what it was! I'm collecting parts right now to do a regular kugel for a buddy of mine. Already have the turret and barrels, just have to get some good flash suppressors and a donor hull. The plan is to tie the MG sound into LED's in the barrels. Another build thread coming!

Bill I have an Elmod control Board in a Torro/WSN M16 half track and it is brilliant with not only the bank of 4 .50 cal Browning's on the sound chip but it also drives the Turret and as it is such a small board it will be an easy fit in the Hull of a PZ4.

Re: FEHRMANN GRUPPE TIGER 05
You'd be better off with a Fusion than the cut-down M16 board. The M16 version won't be able to drive a tank properly given its motor setup, and the Fusion Pro can have multiple independent recoil servos to allow both cannons to cycle.

Looks like you've got 2018 booked out, and 2019, and 2020...HERMAN BIX wrote:lets just say "I've got a bit on"
