Wow. I think the word from Oz is Gobsmacked. I've ordered some things for mine and now I see that I can do a lot more. The rear hatch opening up would be ideal for the on/off switch. I really think the switch underneath is a pain. You have given me way to many ideas! Where did you come by that little saw you use so frequently?

Be well,
Steve

Steve it pays to trawl through the builds for oh so many useful hints on how to further your build, as to those micro blades I would suggest you go to ---
www.x-acto.com
They wont sell you anything but you will get a better idea as to what is available in cutting and sawing tools for modellers.

Have you given thought to using a soldering iron ground to a screwdriver point for this technique? I have an old iron I am considering trying it with. It doesn't get hot enough for soldering but plenty warm enough to do this trick I think.

I have , but trying to get your hand in the right place to get control is difficult with a long tool.
I used a stubby screwdriver and a burner.

Great work Herman!

The Fenders look absolutely fantastic.

I agree with Carl, your "other worldly" skills are starting to sneak through. The boys from Area 51 are watching! :haha:

If them jokers from '51 are watching, its not for "other worldly skills" trust me !!!!!!!!

I got the 'ump with this tank in the raw, so took advantage of the paint baking oven we call "the outside" ;)
Looks a whole lot betterer in all primer !
Even if the barrel is still in full rear battery.
The Zim has toned down quite well after primer, so thats a good thing as a practice run ahead of my first venture into the Narnia of Tamiya tanks with my forlorn King Tiger waiting for its new life.

Got the roadwheel adaptors being made, so shouldn't be too long before I can them on, fit the gearbox's and then its only electronics before securing the halves together.
One of the club guys has a clark 20/22 model board with Tiger sounds in it available for $50, so that might just be what goes in this one.
Mr Ozarmour has offered to get the board operating so thats a huge plus.
Got a Visitron speaker to box up & mount, and maybe a smoker(not sure if I want one)

I'm thinking of using the hairspray trick over the primer to get a worn-paint look, but not certain on that yet.

Can say..................love the smell of curing primer while watching the Ashes test day 4

Thanks Mr Ludwig

Its coming along.
I just had a look at the pictures I posted & had a moment........ :problem: :problem:

Holy-carp, there is going to need to be some creative masking to leave primer exposed on the Zimm patches prior to the Dunkelgelb base coat :O 8O
I have some Panzer putty, but to achieve and retain the patchy outline I made with the screwdriver was something I didnt foresee :/
Either mask them off or really hook in with the wet toothbrush after the base coat is applied over the hairspray :shifty:
