HL Truck Mods

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Just stumbled upon this on eBay..
Tamiya Double Gearbox Left/right Independent 4-speed https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3023530257
At £6.99 I couldn’t resist it, may be possible to use it as a central transfer box between the axles.
Nothing ventured nothing gained ImageImage

That's what a lot of guys use for the 1/18 halftracks.

OK, I did my first job as an HL truck mechanic. 8) 8)

A guy at worked picked one up for his 3 year old grandson, so I just did my first steering box replacement on a stock truck. Flagged a whole quarter-hour on that one. ;)

Naturally I had the parts since none of my trucks run on stock steering anymore, thankfully. @)

I guess with use the steering boxes wear out kinda quick, so one more reason to be sure we did the right thing when we put in those servos. 8)
