HengLong M1A2 - build #01!

Post by pininy »

My first M1A2 and I'm going to start posting my build thread and mods here. Not as detailed, but trying to make a good mod!

Just upgraded my Metal Tracks, Road Wheels, Idler, sprocket, return wheels all alloy. Tracks with rubber pads on both side too!

System - the China, CS-TK16 with TK16-SWB gun stabilizer.

First off - Debonding time.

Got to finally use my Z-7 Debonder after more than 10 years in storage! haha!

Here's the results!

Hey great M1A2 Abrams! I always had a special place in my heart for these beasts..... and this tank is the one my relative operated during Operation Iraqi Freedom, a very useful time for the tank indeed. Not to mention this also is the same RC tank I've been trying to urge my brother to get, I've been trying to get him into the hobby ever since my first purchase :haha:
Them: WHY do you like tanks so much?
Me: Well, let's see.... It's an all terrain machine of steel with a GUN mounted to the top. The REAL question SHOULD be, why WOULDN'T I like tanks "so much"..... 8)
Them: O_O

Pininy,

Your build is coming along nicely!  Are you going to space both of the return rollers the same as on the actual tank?
I am still uncertain if I am going to change mine, I am a little concerned about the weight of the metal tracks.

Nice XM-153 Remote Weapon Station; any thoughts of making it available? I have a M1A2 SEP planned as a future build and will be needing one.
There may be others here that may also be interested.
