Heng long based scratchbuilit 6x6 truck.
Re: Heng long 6x6 truck.
Nope, nothin' planned, but Rex Ross bought one and he's kinda like E.F Hutton, when he talks about converting stuff, smart people listen. But, I'm sure I'll find stuff to use it for, if it turns out to be of sufficient quality, which is doubtful for 40 bucks. It's 1/18 scale, but I won't know for sure till I measure it if I can use it maybe for a DM Jeep? That would be the cats's pajamas, eh?

If you're not familiar wit Rex's work he's really good. I can't say he's the very best scratch builder I've ever seen, but he's definitely in the top three. Rex is also an inspiration for me so I sometimes try to copy his stuff or glom onto his ideas. This project was pretty much Rex's idea.
I've got a couple of future projects in mind that are inspired by Rex, and he's promised to help if i ever get off my duff and build the meillerwagen convoy. So far all I have for that is the one Blitz. I'm hoping I can make the HL truck into a hanomag SS-100 to pull the trailer that holds the V-2 (miellerwagen).

The HL truck is the perfect wheelbase for a Hanomag

It's only early days yet but there's loads of room inside

That looks awesome. You're the first person I've seen try to do that truck in this scale. I'm going to try to use wheels from a highway 61 truck, since the photo above shows the truck with your basic street tires. I have the duals for the back and both front wheels and tires so now all I have to do is take a break from the Hetzer and get with it. Who know? Maybe this weekend.

Re: Heng long 6x6 truck.
Morning all,
I've been working on the trailer a little bit making a cover and sorting the wheels out for it. I've just placed the canvas cover on at the minute just to work out where the tie down points need to be, couple of pics of it so far
Cheers, Lee.

Thank you John, I'm planning on completing the canvas for the trailer first before I move onto the larger cover for the truck
