Cheap bridge

Hi gents.

Found some packing foam at work, wich looks like an old stone bridge?

Going to modify the foam for use as the sides.

Planning on building the bridge itself from hardwood and place the foam om the sides for decoration.

What do you think?

Any suggestions?

Good idea. My only suggestion would be to shape the piers as stone bridges tend to have angled piers to reduce water pressure force and deflect debris.

Good idea, you acan easily shape this material with a knife.

If you are taking it apart to build it from severals blocks, remember that sticking wooden pins in (like tootpicks or larger) is a great way to keep the pieces together!

But... It really matters how you will texture/color it. The current texture is not very stone-like. Because it's quite soft material, plaster or such will easily crack and fall off, same goes for textured paint. Spraying with a rattle can (depending on the brand) can dissolve these packaging materials.

Conclusion: make sure you have some extra pieces to practice on before you build your masterwork!

Once I her the bridge deck itself sorted, it is time to bring out the sharp hobby knife

Just looked at your 'bridge' again, why not flipping the pieces over so the middle parts touches the ground in order to be a supporting part of the structure?
