Re: Modern Tanker Figures
It may sound silly but G.I.Joe figures would work well.
Re: Modern Tanker Figures
The only set really is the Tamiya 1/16 Bundeswehr Tank Crewman, and now also the JGSDF tank crew when they released the Type 10.

Re: Modern Tanker Figures
Almost forgot, they sell modern military figures in Walmart that may work.
Re: Modern Tanker Figures
Thanks guys, all good suggestions!

Re: Modern Tanker Figures
I have just bought my Son a Challenger 2 & looked all over for suitable Tank Crew. In the end I decided on the Japanese Defence Force Tank Crew... basically because the Helmet is close if not a match for what our Tank crews wear. The uniform will need a slight repaint to Tan or DDPM but the half figure looks great. The standing guy will have to be mine or cut him in half & use him elsewhere?

Yep, i second that. Was looking everywhere and found JGSDF seems to be suitable for Abrams crew. Might need to do up a goggle to cover the eyes bit so that the tanker doesnt look like Japanese crew instead.

Re: Modern Tanker Figures
I have seen that done & the goggles blacked out. I didn't think it was necessary but i'll do it if If get myself a Challenger but only because I don't like it looking like an Army of clones in my Tanks.nexusys wrote:rolling-thunder wrote:I have just bought my Son a Challenger 2 & looked all over for suitable Tank Crew. Re: Modern Tanker Figures
Hey Barry,
it's depending on vehicle and time. This is the US Tanker from Verlinden to be used for M1.It's perfectly detailed, but a little bit too large concerning the scale

Re: Modern Tanker Figures
Yes, necro-ing here, but there recently has been some movement in the 1/16 scale modern crew department by manufacturers.
SOL makes some highly detailed -female- modern tank crews. I love them, but that’s just me. Currently busy with the modern russian crew for my second T-90.
Their exquisite detail comes at a very, vèry hefty price, though.
Currently they offer a full Leopard crew, a modern russian crew, and an IDF crew. All female, oddly enough. It’s a start.
Tamiya’s Leopard crew is only useful if one is reasonably skilled with putty and sculpting. They come with the standard “Knochensacke” coverall, and need a flak-vest sculpted, plus a modern helmet, since they still sport the ancient -russian-like- leather helmet/head cover.
