Most of my knowledge is from good old fashioned books! Or modelling magazines.

Any in particular you want to know?

I would suggest you pick a war and Google "***** war tanks". I tried with the Korean war and got this.

Centurion faced many foes - M48's, T55, T62, RPG's!

It was in the Korean War, Indo/Pakistan War, Vietnam, Israel/Egypt etc in the Golan Heights.

Great tank and considering it's age, still used recently by South africa as the Olifant.

Mick, the duel series of books from Ospray are good ones for this as they profile two different tanks that have engaged in some of the more famous battles.

As to the Hooben T-55A, I just built one with stock mechanics and added in a IBU2 as the electronics and it runs quite nicely. In terms of duels, it would have fought with the IDF collections of Shermans perhaps ? I personally use it as target for the Merkava......... 8)

if you'd sooner have something audio-visual, rather than a book, I'd recommend the box set of 'Greatest Tank Battles' series 1-3 (8-disc DVD set). It spans decades of warfare between all manner of combatants, and armour.

It's not cheap, and you'll need a region free (multi region DVD player to handle it), but it's compelling and immersive viewing of Tank on Tank action. Individual series are available separately, covering different theatres of War, I believe. Check them out though.

As for the Hooben T-55A, almost tamiya money :( and with Centurion prices as they are, maybe that's a pair for some deep thought lol.

But thanks again chaps :D

Mick.
Mick,

$259 USD before shipping is not Tamiya money, no ?

Centurion also clashed with T-34/85 in the Korean War so that's another potentially inexpensive option.
