I would imagine that if there is a discernible demand for stripped out Tamiya's that a dealer will be selling Taigen Gearbox Friendly Gearbox mounting plates quite soon.

I do believe ETO sell engineered gearboxes for Tamiya Tanks, Pricey but lovely quality.

At axels modellbau you can get the original spare gearboxes, but the price is quite steep. Will dklm gearboxes fit the Tamiya tank?

I remember seeing someone installing Taigen gearboxes in a Tamiya before, you should be able to use just about anything if you create mountings to suit.
