Heng Long all metal Tiger 1 in 1/8 scale..

Are the sounds or movements customizable? I noticed the track recoil was slightly off.
I'm debating between this and a Mark 1 Tiger 1 1:8
Alex, where did you buy it?

I sourced from a toy distributor in China that handled all the contact and delivery details. They are also helping with any follow up and spares etc. has been a good experience,they try very hard.

With regard to a Mark 1 example, is it all metal? Personally I like the Armortek models for their purity of line but i realise they literally cost double if everything done. I live in HK easier for me when dealing with China. When i move back to the UK in 2019 (after 19 years) for the kids education, if any money left I would like a Panther G or that Elephant from Armortek.

Yes, Alex, I think most contributors here would agree that limited edition Armortek models have a certain 'cache'. They're the elite all-shiny metal collectibles of the future. Unfortunately, they only make a few at a time, and I think they have a waiting list system, not unlike that of Bugatti and Koeniggsegg Mark 1 tanks are mostly made of fibre glass, with the basic shells being manufactured in Russia, I understand. The Heng Long looks terrific, and suspect it's probably made under licence from Metalbox, but as Tom has suggested, the electronics might be slightly disappointing for the money. Pity that we can't get Clarkson, May and Hammond to compare the models....

My first experience of what is possible with the sounds etc. as i say probably customisable i will have a look this weekend. Other jobs i want to do though like take some of the road wheels off to check the integrity of the bolts, as stated before some overtightened. Wife's away 2 weeks with kids in UK, 1 week in and the 'going out drinking phase' is nearly over.

I posted this partly to show the new features of the 1/8 scale HL Tiger, but also to show the growing confidence Heng Long have in their products. They've even added 'Since 1986' to their logo Before you know it, they'll have the royal seal of approval, and the line: 'As used by Queen Elizabeth in Windsor Great Park'.. Still, it's a nicely presented video of a product I'd like to own...and they're beginning to be serious rivals to Armortek, Mark-1, and Field ofArmor (sic)..

Also love the barrel recoil, didn't think that was possible with the BB firing guns?

Definately have recoil, i can confirm. The BB gun is spring driven not CO2.

Imex/Taigen put barrel recoil in an airsoft Tiger a long time ago. I have one and it works great.

You can also buy just the airsoft recoil turret, which is what I did.

Taigen do a recoil bb barrel for the tiger 1, some of their tanks come with, and you can get the turrets separately.

I must not buy, I must not buy... Damn, even says it fits the heng long! I can see a multitude of boats up for sale soon if you people keep giving me links to these things! If I went with a metal turret, I'd have to upgrade the hull, and the tracks, wheels, etc etc and it was only bought as a cheap run about...

Only thing dude, I'm not sure about the compatibility between the electronics of the taigen marrying up with the heng long.
There may be something in the electronics section, cos I'm really not the one to give electronic advice yet lol.

Ahh, thanks, that's enough to hold me off the buy now button. Though I am hovering over the buy button for the full RTR tank, and I don't even especially like the Tiger! I wonder what she'd say if we got back from holiday and there was another big box waiting for me

That does look good. Is yours the plastic or metal version and so you know if the metal comes with the moulded in accessories or are the the 1's you put on yourself? Very tempted by it, but would have a few more questions before buying I think.

Pfft too late now, you shown me the all metal ready to go tank! I'm not gonna sleep 'til my bank card has had a good bashing! Lol

The plastic version is showing as out of stock at the moment (as is almost everything I've looked at purchasing on there), and the Tiger in question still has the old RX13 in it, so I'd want to upgrade that as well. I think I'm more likely to keep that as a run about for the kids, and maybe treat myself to the Taigen full metal tank. I'll have to start another thread with some questions Re. Taigen Tiger, if only I hadn't just had to do the rear brakes on the car, I'd be buying it now.

Should really go to bed now, 5hrs 'til I've got the get up and tow the 'van to sunny Cromer...
