M1A2 Heng Long US Army based in Romania
Finally got my hands on a modern tank and it's my second US tank in a row. I didn't realise how much work went into painting and prepping one of these tanks since they are quite large. I wanted to do away with the desert yellow look and did quite a bit of research and came upon the US armour currently stationed in Europe after being moved from the Middle East. Instead of the traditional NATO paint job the pieces that are being sent to the Baltics and Poland are now sporting old school olive drab over the desert sand color. The paint is actually temporary on these machines so the numbers and markings are masked over as I've presented them. I painted with Tamiya TS 28 olive drab and them sprayed Vallejo acrylics and weathered with Mig oil washes.
Ibu2U ( newest IBU2 ) with Visaton speaker Tarr smoker servo rotation and mount and speaker enclosure from RCtankelectronics.com
Has servo turret rotation with metal turret ring and ball bearings. It has steel gearboxes and red motors.
It has the turret target locking system installed by Mr MichealC on the forum so I can lock the turret and stay on target as the tank moves.
Servo recoil is fitted. It has metal tracks with rubber pads.Henntec track tensioner system is fitted. To stiffen the plastic hull steel a reinforcement bar is installed.
Just need to source some stowage
Thanks for looking

As always thanks for the kind words Mr Painless. I plan on taking it for a few runs in the yard very soon so I can show the functions and IBU2U sounds.

That's a superb looking M1 Carl:thumbup:
Must admit I am really getting quite interested in modern armour, especially since I got my T-90 a while back. Didn't think I would be that interested but I like how different (and fast) they are compared to WW2 stuff.
Interested in your servo turret and gun tracking set-ups too (thinking of doing something similar with the T-90) - if you take the top off anytime do post a pic or two of the internals, it would be much appreciated.
