Do Rocketmen dream of Plasticard sheep?

Post by Rocketman »

This one does, probably cos all the projects at present are scratch builds!

Anyway had this 70's Sherman knocking around for ages and although I know its the wrong mark I thought I'd do a Omaha funnel conversion on her. This is as she stands tonight, hope to get the funnels done and in the paint shop over the weekend. good as an excuse as any for a trip to a sandy beach as I can think of! ::)

looking very nice Rocketman, and something that I've not seen done on a sherman at this scale before, look forward to seeing more of this build.

Hi Rocket Looking good ,just a point cant remember if its this tank or the DD the air ducts at the back on each side of the upper hull are reversed on some of these tanks to face backwards ,trouble with old age cant remeber which one it is .

Ah thats a good point, no good having great dirty funnels if your sucking the air in either side. Ummm, must cheque that out. I wonder if they were just "waterproofed " for the landing, then stripped off after that. Anyone else have any ideas????

cheers Jens

yeah not too much to come off but I didnt have a turret when I started building the trunks so I just went high so I could trim acordingly when I got the turret to match too. Ive actually blown up your images ( CHEERS  ;D) as they are by far the best ive seen so far. Will get on this tonight as Ive had enough of the 1/96 Saturn V kit ive started which has to be one of the contenders for worst model kit ever made! Staring at the top ive used the escape tower and binned the entire CSm and scratch built it out of plasticard

MORE PLASTICARD :o :o :o :o :o

Looking good brov. I've got yo say I'm really liking the picture with the dozer blade on the front, that would look great. It'll help to disguise the HVSS gear too.
