Today's progress. To all that have been following along many thanks
I installed the lower hull base plate. Mounted and aligned the front gearboxes. The front sprockets are fitted and the drive Axels attached to the sprockets. As I move along slowly the next step is the attachment of the suspension system and road wheels.
Amazing how much weight has been added simply by mounting the transmissions and base plate.
Stay tuned.....
Cheers
Carl

I continued late into the evening. Mounting the leaf springs. Painting the mounts. Mounting the sprockets and road wheels. One must be so careful when mounting the road wheels as they are attached by a plastic cap provided with the original model kit and if even a wee bit of glue touched the wheels I would be finished
So far so good. Suspension works as designed as far as wheel travel and leaf spring operation.
I mounted the turret rotation ring and the speaker with the kit provided mount. The turret ring is very easy to line up as it enters the upper turret structure and slides into the best position possible.
I must admit all is fitting as well as possible. Everything in the kit is very well thought out and very little work is needed to get it all to go together
As I progress the Panzer is slowly becoming a real RC tank ( I know that sounds strange). But its a far cry from the original plastic static model it once was.

Yes I'd say from a small company they have really impressed me Mr Painless.
Mr Herman thank you. I think there are a few vendors selling some form of 1:16 hetzer parts but this could be a nice hetzer base with a bit of retooling
or build a Marder series tank hunter on this chassis

Thank you Paul it's definitely a lighter weight than what we're used to but when I'm done it'll definitely be worth looking at it should be quite a runnerTiggr wrote:Following this one Carl.

Keep up the good work, Carl! I'm pretty sure when Otto Carius first went into Russia during Barbarossa that he was a panzermanner on one of these. ;o)
