T55 new build

Post by Ad Lav »

Long story short, sold my T55 to buy something else, wished I didn't and Oz needed to sell his so I picked his up three weeks ago!

Captain indecisive reporting for duty :D

Starting the build tonight, havn't decided on which type but I have three in the running...

Polish T55AM Merida

Iraq T55 Enigma

Iraq Stock T55

This one is lucky enough to be propelled by an Elmod fusion pro and DKLM metal tracks, but I may run plastic.

Speaker will be dklm with visaton replacement and dklm metal reinforced tub.

Pics to follow.

Suspension started, although I can only complete so much of this as the hull plate needs to be fixed before the other arms can go in.

I work with a Polish guy (great machinist) who actually used to drive a T55, so I vote for the Polish version!! @)

I've long wanted one of these, too, and one day I'll get one so I'll be watching with interest. It looks like it has a pretty good instruction booklet, is that accurate? Are the instructions easy to follow and do they cover everything without leaving out anything important?

Ad Lav,

I have this kit and will be watching with great interest.

I had planned to get metal tracks so if you decide to go with plastic I have a set, maybe we can work something out if interested.

Maybe an early version from the Iraqi army from the early 80's or something in Egyptian service?
