Love the third shot. Moody. But then again, I have a thing for Scotland
Now slap some NATO-black on the little guy's clothes, semi flat black on the throat mic, red-brown on the wires, and Some Tamiya flesh on his face. He looks a tad peaky

I was too busy looking at the really neat fit-out - I wish I could get my ones looking as professional as that inside. Really looks the business. I'm sure you're more than able to paint figures, but I've actually got a painted-up Jerry commander left aside from last year when I fixed up a 'panther' for my better half's young lad. Anyway, I don't have any Wehrmacht armour, and he's an ok job (and indeed needs a job) so you're welcome to him if you'd like him Roy.

Re: Hard transplant 2
Advice and polite plaudits gratefully received, chaps....
The tiger has matured, and morphed into a more convincing wee beastie now and yes, the embarrassing crappy commander (
)is long lang gone. Still, it was my first attempt and remains a work in progress, along with the Firefly and Panzer 4. Lucky old me though, having a garden like that...especially with all the trees I've planted...they're for future Ardennes battle scene recreations
... The original forests were hacked down to build the English navy;
to make charcoal for iron production, and latterly for WW1 trench duckboards..Thinking of Gary's (Max-U52's) plight...you can't be too careful in the choice of your enemies, as someone once said (neighbours in Max's case). Well, my neighbours never complain..and when they do it's usually in the form of 'Baa...baaa..' Hmm, they'd probably like to add; "baa...stad', but it's beyond them- for now, that is...
Immediate family is from Glasgow, but grandparents are from the West Highlands. After getting out of local government early..(cue music from 'The Great Escape') I've managed to return to roots...and with luck, it'll be a while before I'm pushing them up
Try it, if you've not done it already...
Thanks, lads!

Re: Hard transplant 2
Many thanks for the offer, Keith..I may well take you up on that commander. I've rather overlooked scale figures in my quest to find out as much as I can about 1/16 rc tanks. It's a gigantic meal to digest.hobo_keith wrote:I was too busy looking at the really neat fit-out - I wish I could get my ones looking as professional as that inside. Really looks the business. ..and it seems to have an unlimited number of courses, to use a crap metaphor. The figure in the Tiger came gratis with some bits I bought from rctank.de, and I only included that rather ghoul-eyed, pasty-faced specimen
for scale and perspective purposes. He's now in the bin.
Looking back through the mists of time, before I studied Philosophy at Uni (don't ask....

Good afternoon,
I've used that fellow with a Porsche King Tiger and Panther G. It's all in getting the eyes right. ;o)
regards,
Painless

Re: Hard transplant 2
Thanks, Painless..and greetings to you and your wonderful Colorado tank park! Have you shot any rattlers yet?
Anyway, I'll certainly give some serious thought to figures in future...maybe even injured ones to go with a battle damaged tank.
Airfix always used to include stretcher cases in the 1950s packs of toy soldiers.. But, first things first. I've repainted the Tiger. It's meant to look like a a late 1942 model with a base colour of Dunkelgrau..but with
winter whitewash applied roughly by the crew....even though I did it all with an airbrush..and, I don't have a crew either
This beast weighs in at around 16 pounds so, to avoid hernias, it's bent legs.. and bolt straight back! It has the Taigen metal chassis, metal running gear, metal turret and the Taigen airsoft recoil system. Though my Clark TK22 can't handle the recoil. Here are a few pics of the updated winter tiger in Wester Ross, where I live. George RR Martin probably took his Game of Thrones location 'Westeros' from us, together with the wildmen north of the Ice Wall theme (The Scots and Hadrian's Wall....
) :-
and,
Finally..a bit of my Mc Tank Park:
I'll be upgrading the Tiger to IBU2 to handle the airsoft recoil; but that will have to wait until I've finished the Firefly..and now the Panzer 4 too...
