Multi radio Tunigy 9XRPro

Post by Spartan tracks »

I want to have 3 Diferant tanks set up to battle which I will shortly be choosing, I'm wondering would it be easier to have a radio ( Turnigy 9XR Pro ) as I love the one I have, for each 1 as I'm sure it's a lot harder to have one and keep switching each time between the other tanks, any help on this would be great IAN!!!!!!! Help please thanks Andy

I was under the impression that radio had model matching, no? So all you would need are different receivers in each tank and then just change the transmitter inputs for each tank?? I have a transmitter for each of my tanks that are TBU equipped.

For what it's worth, I have found it a real pain having a different transmitter for each tank and am gradually swapping them. Once the board is replaced, all you need to do is bind the different receivers to the one transmitter. It really is a doddle, if my flysky i6 is anything to go by. Saves money too, not having to buy extra transmitters. Just think - if you decide to battle more tanks, that's yet another transmitter for each tank. Bear in mind, I'm a complete novice with R/C. If I can do it, anyome can.

9XR does support model matching but you need to had the proper module and individual receivers. If you are using the cheaper DSSS module and the 9X receivers you cannot do model switching.

If however you just want to control each tank by itself, you don't need model matching to control all of them. As long as it is binded you will be able to control each one individually. If the tanks are set up identical you only need one model on the radio, as long as you turn off the other tanks and only have the one you want on.

Rctanks australia used to do a super small board (like 3x3cms) for model matching. If there are people interested on it he might make them again.

It works with all radios. In my opinion having a lot of radios its a waste of space and money when you can do it with that.
