Tamiya Tiger I wont calibrate/fire

Post by mike1268 »

Hi,

So I have a Tamiya tiger I that wont fire its main or machine gun. I know the guns do fire, I had the main gun working but not the machine gun. I've gone through the config/calibration (pressing the top left button) but have now lost all gun fire. Everything else works fine. I have thrown the trim in both directions and still no luck. Anyone else coma across this issue and or have any ideas on how to resolve?

Have you tried only moving the stick that fires the gun to around 70% when calibrating? If your using a computer tx have you checked the end point adjustment?

I tried setting the end points to 60%, re-calibrated, then set them back to 100%. Still no luck

sorted it, but its a bit odd that it wouldn't calibrate. I've set the end points to 120% and it is working as it should do now.
Really shouldn't have to do that

Mine are all set to 125%.

100% for setup and the adjust the travel to make the lights/gun etc work

If you are using a Spektrum or other programmable aircraft Tx, you'll need to set max travel adjustment (125%), it's not a flaw, it's by design. The analog trim tab is a part of their system so you don't misfire the cannon while elevating during IR combat.

Setting to less and reconfiguring the DMD only tricks it into believing it's the trim added position.

Tamiya tanks are factory set up for the Futaba Attack surface Txs (now rebranded as Tamiya) that they include with all FO kits bought in the Home Islands (elsewhere we get the empty spot in the box and the instructions for it).

Same with the autostart. It works with the Attack (even the new 2.4), but not with other 2.4 systems. TH engine rev on the JS-2 as well.

Tamiya is designed with the Japanese customer in mind. They prefer to pay for a quality product that is well engineered and they stick with the brand (paints, tools, glues, weathering products, etc.), build and operate the finished model as designed.
What, me worry?
